CB Antenna Tuning

One of the most confusing aspects of CB radios for a newbie in the concept of antenna tuning.  The phrase itself is really ambiguous and doesn’t shed much light on the issue.  Adding to the problem are a group of people who have been using CB radios for years and have never tuned their antennas before!  Things seemed to have worked out alright for them, they believe, so they see absolutely no need to tune anything.

Antenna tuning, especially for standard 4 watt CB radios, is a crucially important to ensure that your CB  is working correctly and at its best.  The upside is a great functioning antenna that allows your to talk and receive at your maximum range.  The downside?  Poor radio performance and potentially permanent damage to your beloved CB gear.
